Ministry Area: Using my training as a nurse I coordinate educative and preventative services and programs to nurture the body, mind and soul of God’s people. I also provide connectional relationships with elderly homebound members through visitation and pastoral support in hospital visits.
Brief Bio: Raised in North Central Kansas, I’ve been a member of First Church since my family moved to the big city of Wichita in 1988. I graduated from Wichita State University’s Bachelor of Science of Nursing program in 1996, and attended Parish Nurse Preparation Training in Florida two years ago. Except for a year in Switzerland and some time in Montreal, Wichita is home.
Family: I met my husband of 15 years when we were youth sponsors and we are raising our three children, ages: 11, 9 and 7, along with a Westie puppy.
Interests: I don’t have time for all my interests, but some day I’ll play the guitar, and some day I’ll have a motorcycle. Right now, I scrapbook, cross-stitch, sometimes geocache and am a contributor to findagrave.com.
Favorite Car Sounds: I usually listen to books on tape: whatever the local library has that isn’t too racy for the kids to listen along.
Books that have shaped my faith: C.S. Lewis’ Narnia Series, "Christy" and "Julie" by Catherine Marshall, "Take My Hands & Dr. Ida" by Dorothy Clarke Wilson.

A Promise from the Bible on which I lean: Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
