Christie Dugan, Dir. Finance & Administration

Ministry Area:
As Director of Finance and Administration, I primarily serve to protect the stewardship and financial integrity of the church, and guide our administrative practices. I am also blessed with the opportunity to assist with the church's Religious Nurture Center.

Brief Bio:
I was born and raised in Wichita. I attended Wichita State University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an accounting emphasis. I began my career in public accounting working for KPMG Peat Marwick and obtained my CPA license and permit through the state of Kansas. After public accounting, my career led me to private industry with an emphasis in health care and manufacturing. I then entered the non-profit arena. I have been on staff at First Church since 2005.

Family and Interests:
I met my husband, Lonnie, in high school. We have been married for 30 years. Our son, Christopher, is a fireman for the city of Wichita and is married to Mylissa a dental hygienist. Our daughter Amy is a middle school math teacher at Hadley. Despite our empty nest status, Lonnie and I continue to stay family focused enjoying time skiing at the lake and working on home remodeling projects with our adult children.

Favorite Music:
Since I grew up in the 70's my favorite music is, of course, rock-n-roll; however, I enjoy most genres--especially if it is something that I can sing along to.

Books that have influenced me:
Growing up I spent a lot of time reading the Good News Bible. Currently, books written by Thomas Merton or C.S. Lewis can be found on the bedside tables at our home.

Favorite Bible Verses:
While John 6:51-58 is central to my faith, I have found great comfort in Psalm 46:10, Col 3:2-4, and Psalm 46:1-2a of late:
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea."
